Overview

Berry helps you understand food in the context of your goals, dietary preferences, and health needs. This policy explains the information we collect, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

Information You Provide

Information Collected Automatically

We may collect device and app information, approximate location derived from an Internet Protocol address, app interactions, diagnostic data, crash information, subscription status, and attribution information used to understand how Berry was installed. Where required, Berry asks for permission before enabling tracking or accessing your camera and photos.

How We Use Information

AI Processing

Berry uses artificial intelligence services to analyze information and generate explanations and responses. Information relevant to a request, which may include product details, images, profile context, diary context, or messages, may be sent to service providers that process it on our behalf. Do not submit information you do not want processed for these purposes.

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with vendors that provide hosting, storage, authentication, artificial intelligence, analytics, attribution, diagnostics, customer support, and subscription services. These currently may include Cloudflare, Google, Apple, PostHog, AppsFlyer, and RevenueCat, depending on the features enabled in your build. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect safety and rights, during a corporate transaction, or when you ask us to.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain information for as long as needed to provide Berry, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. You can initiate account deletion from Berry’s settings. We may retain limited records when legally required or necessary for security, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution. Deleting Berry from your device does not delete your account.

Your Choices

You can update profile information in Berry, manage device permissions in your device settings, control certain analytics and tracking choices where available, and request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. Your rights may vary based on where you live.

Children’s Privacy

Berry is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Security and International Processing

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure. Berry and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Berry changes. We will revise the effective date above and provide additional notice when required.
